Oiler Job Description on Samskip Hoffell

Position: Motorman Oiler/Wiper (Engine Room Rating)
Department: Engine Department
Vessel Type: Container Ship (Samskip Hoffell)

The Oiler:

• Shall be responsible for carrying out work in the Engine Room as assigned by the 2nd Engineer and throughout the ship on mechanical work as required.

• In addition, he shall keep watches in the Engine Room if he is certified for watchkeeping as instructed by the 2nd Engineer and the published watch list.

• Has assigned emergency duties as per Emergency Master List.

• Shows safety consciousness and behaviour.

• Engine Room ratings report to the 2nd Engineer on day work and to the Duty Engineer whilst on watch.
