Damen Services is the service division within the Damen Group which has a global coverage with service hubs worldwide and its head office in the Netherlands. We support Damen's central sales organization in the sale of ships by creating added value in the form of services. The department offers a broad portfolio of services for the entire life cycle of a ship built by Damen. This includes handling warranty calls, providing training, supplying spare parts, providing maintenance and carrying out modifications and repairs. All in all, this service oriented way of working is also reflected in the behavior of its employees; they are always available, proactive, keep their agreements and always go the extra mile. Within the Services department the question is always: How do we make it happen?  

The role
As a  Project Engineer within one of the Area Service Teams, you are at the forefront of service provision. You have direct contact with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders during the warranty period of ships. Therefore, speed, thinking in solutions, organization and communication are key in this role! 
You will assess and filtering information, devising and organizing solutions and keeping the customer informed of developments, wherever they are located in the assigned service region. 
In this role you will mainly be working from the headquarter office in Gorinchem (The Netherlands). Although, you will also get the opportunity to make some short travels in order to meet your clients in person. 

Key accountabilities
•    You are the point-of-contact for the customer to assess warranty questions while translating those questions into an assignment 
•    You will provide both oral and written technical advice to the customer; 
•    Coordinating, monitoring and supervising the service activities to be carried out, occasionally also on location; 
•    The (technical) preparation of the assignments (planning in time, personnel and budget); 
•    Carrying out commercial assignments, for example providing technical assistance. 
 
Skills and experience
•    Educational background (Vocation or Bachelor) in the field of Marof, Shipbuilding or Mechanical Engineering; 

•    You are able to interpret blueprints of ships and to work with different ERP, CRM systems; 
•    Knowledge of various ship types and/or systems; 
•    You have great communication skills, are committed and customer-oriented and you have the Services mentality; 
•    You are a good planner and organizer, you always keep a good overview and you have an eye for quality; 
•    Good command of the Dutch and English language, both verbal and written;
