The role
As the Technical Process Manager, you act as the central authority and driver for technical compliance and efficiency across the German F126 Frigate project. You will focus on crucial technical areas, including Occupational Safety, Environmental Protection, System Safety, and Cyber Security. Your responsibilities are focused on governance, execution, assurance, and continuous improvement. You will be reporting to the Sub-project Manager Engineering (Teilprojektleiter Konstruktion) F126. This is a temporary position, for the durtion of this project.
Key accountabilities
In this interim role, your responsibilities will include:
- Process Ownership: Own and enforce technical assurance processes, including Safety (Occupational & System), Cyber Security, and Environmental Protection, integrating them into the product design.
- Compliance Assurance: Drive execution and validate that all project deliverables meet stringent contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Project Integration: Act as the primary interface between technical experts (TPLs) and project management, ensuring processes align with Risk, Change, and Quality Management.
- Stakeholder Leadership: Lead external coordination with the Client and subcontractors by representing the project in dedicated technical forums.
- Resource Management: Define and coordinate the required capacity and specialized competencies for the process teams with the line organization.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze and identify opportunities to improve processes, collaborating across teams to deploy innovative solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain all process management plans, ensuring clear technical standards and strategic execution documentation.
Skills & experience
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a technical project role, ideally within the shipbuilding, automotive, or aerospace industries.
- Solid experience applying the Systems Engineering approach to complex projects.
- Proven leadership experience (middle-management level) in a technology-driven, project-based, and process-heavy environment.
- Master’s degree in Business Management or a Technical Bachelor's degree combined with specialized process management qualifications.
- Excellent command of English is mandatory, German command and advantageous.
- Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
