We are Clearwater Ship Management B.V., a shipping company active in international tanker shipping.
We manage a modern fleet of 13 of tankers, transporting a wide range of oil products and chemicals for various clients in Europe and worldwide.

Due to the expansion of our fleet, we are looking to strengthen our QHSE/Vetting team, with a driven person who thrives on responsibility and a dynamic working environment.

The Role

As a QHSE & Vetting Officer, you contribute to fostering a safe and responsible culture.

You will act as the point of contact between our office and vessels, support captains and crew, conduct audits and follow-up actions, manage parts of the QHSE management system, promote safety awareness, and help us meet industry standards for Safety, Quality, and the Environment.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Manage, monitor, and update all QHSE-related processes and systems;
  • Ensure all personnel are familiar with the QHSE Policy and applicable rules, regulations, codes, and guidelines;
  • Provide QHSE materials that promote safety awareness (e.g. Lessons Learned, outcomes of incident investigations);
  • Maintain the Planned Maintenance System (CFM) and manage relevant online platforms such as OCIMF, CDI, and Q88;
  • Conduct internal and external audits and ensure timely follow-up of findings;
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize procurement and delivery processes;
  • Ensure clear and consistent communication between the QHSE department and the captains onboard;
  • Review and follow up on reports of non-conformities, observations, and hazardous situations, together with relevant personnel;
  • Support the coordination and execution of certification and inspection programs (e.g. ISM, ISO 9001);
  • Analyse and report on incidents, support investigations, and promote learning from daily operations.

Your Qualifications and Competences

  • A completed MBO or HBO education, preferably in maritime;
  • Work experience as a seafarer or similar work in the office;
  • Proficient in Dutch and/or English, spoken and written;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft office 365 is a pre;
  • A proactive and solution-oriented attitude;
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with different stakeholders;
  • Willing to travel for support our crew during inspections.
