About Us
Damen Services is the service division within the Damen Group and delivers all the after-sales activities for the Damen portfolio with a prime focus on workboats and offshore support vessels. The division aims to be the strategic partner to deliver sustainable service and support during the lifecycle of Damen customer’s assets.
Damen Services has a global coverage with service hubs worldwide and its head office in the Netherlands. By providing excellent service with the initial delivery and throughout the lifecycle of Damen vessels , Damen Services strives for recurring customers for both new build and service. The primary focus is to further enhance the service portfolio on the Damen installed base and to add value to the market by utilizing knowledge of Damen vessels and their systems. Through our strategic global presence, we aim to be present as close to our clients as we possibly can, while ensuring that we continue to act as one Damen Services at all times.
The organization is based on a decentral management model, with area teams that are end-to-end responsible for selling and delivering services in their area. Area teams usually consist of a multidisciplinary team of commercial and operational roles, both in the head office and in the service hubs. A central governed part of the organization covers specialized commercial services, acts as an expertise and knowledge center on Damen service and provides operational, commercial and staff expertise in support of the area teams.
Clients of Damen Services recognize excellent service in the behavior of our employees, who are available to clients, pro-active, solution oriented and willing to make an extra mile when needed. Within Services we use the slogan ‘We Care’, that is what we do for our products, services, clients and people. The core question always is how to make things happen.
The role
Are you an all-rounder in the field of own keel transport? Do you have several years of experience in a nautical logistics environment? Then become our new Service Coordinator own keel transports!
The Deliveries department within the division Services is responsible for all shipments and towing of our delivered vessels from the construction site to the customer. From the regional service teams, you receive requests in this area, calculate them and advise internally on specifications (including cost and time) for these transports. You negotiate with external parties on the supply of crews and ensure close contact on this with the regional service team and any other internal stakeholders. You also supervise the project during execution and are responsible for the quality of the execution. Among other things, you ensure that the preparations are correct, that the crews are briefed and that all required materials are present.
The department consists of 6 coordinators and a crewing coordinator who equally, proactively supervise the own keel transports. Hands on, that's the mentality here. Occasionally, the role will require you to monitor projects in the Netherlands or abroad at irregular times (about 5 times a year).
