Are you a good fit for the Category Buyer Services position at Damen Services? Now or in the near future?
As a Category Buyer Services, you will be responsible for coordinating the procurement of various goods and services for projects in which the purchasing group is involved. As a Category Buyer Services, you follow market developments and identify relevant developments in the supply market and their impact on the business.
In addition, as a Category Buyer, you are responsible for a number of product categories and you manage the interests and maintain the relationships with all relevant stakeholders. With these stakeholders, you also initiate and coordinate improvement projects related to the Supply Chain.

This is a good fit if you like to do the following:

Enter into Long Term Service Agreements and blankets with strategic suppliers;
Tracking price and delivery time developments to ensure timely availability on the right terms;
Mapping of relevant stakeholders for the relevant categories;
Participate in various team meetings to determine internal procurement needs;
Capture and manage contracts in available systems (ERP, Contract Management Tool etc.);
Actively participate in working groups for Category Strategy Development;
Be part of supplier account teams to ensure Services interests;
Authorize purchase orders from the operational buyers;
Coordinate various Supply Chain Services improvement projects;
Support the insightful creation of a KPI dashboard (Continuous Improvement).

We ask our future Category Buyer Services to come prepared with the following:
You have:

Preferably a completed Technical HBO education in the direction of e.g. Mechanical Engineering or Nevi I and II;
Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience;
Experience with technical maintenance in industry or shipping and knowledge of spare parts is a plus.

You are:

Result-oriented, a "Category Buyer Services" with initiative;
Strong in forming a combination between technical, logistical and commercial aspects of assignments;
Mastery of Dutch and English;
Communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders;
A pragmatic, persuasive "Category Buyer Services" with a solid personality, fitting within a dynamic organization with a hands-on culture;
Decisive and at the same time flexible in your approach and works methodically;
Well able to manage expectations.
